The Glascote Herd John Croshaw founded the Glascote herd in 1953. On the following Essex bloodlines: Lullington Lady 45th, Blakenhall Grand Duchess 5th and Merryvale Gamma 4th. These original bloodlines still remained in the herd when Mr. Croshaw retired in 2006. For Mr. Croshaw's dedication to the Essex Pig we invited him to become our President of the new society, which he accepted. The Glascote herd remained pure Essex although classed as British Saddlebacks with the B.P.A.
