Pedigree Recognition:  The EDENBORO Herd
Any Pedigree with progeny of the name Edenboro i.e. Edenboro Dictator, will have been originally bred by Mr. Vaughan Byrne

Referred to as "Mr. Pig Himself" by Jimmy Doherty on a Jimmy's Farm episode, Vaughan was the person who introduced several Rare Breeds to Ireland in the 1970's.

Vaughan worked with some wonderful people from the United Kingdom, in order to fulfil his dream of bringing Rare Breeds to Northern Ireland.

Vaughan introduced the Dexter Cattle Breed, The British Saddleback, The Tamworth and the Berkshire, whilst most of us were still attending Primary School, or for the younger breeders amongst us, "Were still a twinkle in our Daddy's Eye".

He also introduced several new Gloucestershire Old Spots blood lines including both lines of Rufus, Princess Ann and the Ellen.

All  PRIZE WINNING British Saddleback pigs in Ireland trace their ancestry back to the Edenboro lines.
